Tourism Update: Announcement No. 292 on the Exemption of Provisional Fines for Expired Tourism Licenses in Cambodia
Applicable Industries: Tourism

The Ministry of Tourism ("MOT") announced on July 17, 2025, that all expired tourism licenses, with the exception of tourist guide licenses, would not be subject to temporary fines. The purpose of this notification is to lessen the burden of compliance for travel agencies during the Green Season.

Exemption Period

From the date of notification (17 July 2025) to 30 September 2025, provisional fines will not be assessed.

Renewal Requirement

The Ministry of Tourism or the appropriate province Tourism Department must receive fresh applications from all companies whose tourism licenses have expired. For operations to continue after the exemption period, this is necessary.

The Kingdom of Cambodia's Prime Minister, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN MANET, approved this forbearance policy, which is part of the government's larger plan to support economic recovery in the tourism industry, which is still adjusting to the disruptions caused by the pandemic.
